Iowa State University Chapter of Triangle, Inc. Alumni Board Conference Call Meeting called to orderDate: 03/30/2009 Time 8:00 P.M. Place: Conference Call AttendanceName Title Dax Kuhfuss Alumni Board President Josh Brown Alumni Board VP Nate Engle Alumni Board Treasurer Jason Carroll Alumni Board Secretary Old BusinessNone New BusinessNational Convention (Nate E):-Received bill for alumni dues portion-Will solict alumni to attend and they will pick up due.-Alumni with Interest: Josh Brown, Dax? Recruitment (Josh B):-DoR contract breaks now have a May 1 deadline-Each house is given two breaks beyond the deadline-In-House Members next year: -10 returning members -3 have signed cards -2 have cards and will sign soon-Need to have about 17 in-house in 2009-2010 in order to break even, this is also the maximum we can get based on current regulations-Will need to get 7-8 during 2009-2010 school year and then 2-3 in summer of 2010-Actives are meeting with TOGA and DoR to try and get more breaks for houses with very low numbers-Brian T will be coming to Ames this summer/fall to being to develop a new recruitment strategy at ISU that adapts to the new contract break deadline-One idea to consider is a parlor or out-of-house fee, many houses have dues of $600-This summer the house will be doing the following things: -Talking to the College of Engineering and hopefully having them send something out for us-Alumni Board needs to discuss with Actives how to handle the position of recruitment and how much work must be done this summer and funds required to make it happen Founder’s Day (Josh):-About 20 alums were in town-Raised about $1300 from donations Actives need to sign an IRS form related to sales tax, Nate E working on getting it signed but Active Treasurer not responding A big donation has been offered for a new house, contacted through National Foundation -Alumni needs to develop a facilities committee and decide what we need -In 1 year we need a plan with specifics -In 1 ½ years will kick off the capital campaign -Josh Brown will send out a proposal for facilities committee and charge to be approved by Alumni Board at future meeting
