Iowa State Triangle Launches $2,000,000 Campaign

Ames, IA – The Triangle Chapter at Iowa State University launched its Securing Our Future – Triangle’s Home Campaign during Homecoming 2019.  The $2,000,000 Campaign will help ensure the future of the chapter and provide alumni and friends of Triangle the opportunity to invest in the long-term success of the chapter by providing funding for the chapter house at 2136 Lincoln Way.

Since Triangle’s founding on the Iowa State campus in 1964 more than 500 men have been initiated into the chapter. Triangle’s Iowa State brotherhood has had a long history of leadership on campus, in the classroom, and provided a home away from home for generations of Triangle brothers. Acquired in 2018, 2136 Lincoln Way is a new, modern facility in the heart of the Iowa State community that will provide all Triangle brothers a home when in Ames. The new home is the crown jewel of Greek houses at Iowa State and in all of Triangle. The facility boasts state-of-the-art safety and security, suite-style living, plentiful common and study space, in a location directly adjacent to campus.

“Our goal is to ensure that the costs of procuring and maintaining our home does not fall entirely on the newly reinstalled chapter and we are asking alumni to participate to help continue our recent successes. We have already secured $1,340,000 in gifts and our goal is to raise the remaining $660,000 by September 2020,” said Alumni President John Pritchard is82.

The chapter has engaged the Triangle Education Foundation to manage the Securing Our Future – Triangle’s Home Campaign. Alumni and Friends of Triangle will have several options for supporting the Campaign, including both tax-deductible and non-deductible options. Triangle Education Foundation Vice President Aaron Girson will manage the campaign. Girson’s experience includes running the 2012 Campaign for Triangle national endowment campaign that secured more than $7,000,000 in gifts.

With a successful fall new member class of 17 men, the chapter is already demonstrating what it can do with 2136 Lincoln Way as its home. The growing chapter strives to attain a level of excellence while maintaining a friendly and inviting home where lifelong friendships are made.

About Triangle

Founded in 1907 at the University of Illinois, Triangle is a social, professional STEM organization of Engineers, Architects and Scientists. We are the only national social fraternity that requires specific fields of study and Triangle is one of only three national fraternities that does not have a Greek letter name. Triangle Fraternity currently operates on 37 campuses with more than 1200 undergraduate members, since founding in 1907 more than 29,000 men have been initiated.

The Iowa State Chapter was founded in 1964 and has a strong tradition of recruiting academically focused men. In addition, we strive to find men that live their life with integrity - those who make the choices to be leaders, scholars, professionals and gentlemen in all aspects of their lives.
